Bull Piggy Bank #140This particular piggy bank exhibits some wear as expected of an object of its age. Much of the original paint has survived the years, but aside from flaking, this coin bank has survived remarkably well. Measurements of this piggy bank model are currently unavailable. The bull or ox piggy bank you can see that the artist paid attention to musculature and scale. The posture, that of a bull bowing its head to prepare to charge is also of interest. Near the shoulders, the coin slot is also visible. These pottery piggy banks were made in Mexico between approximately 1940 to 1951. |
