Rabbit Piggy Bank #129This particular piggy bank, exhibits some wear, as expected of an object of its age. Much of the original paint has survived the years, but aside from flaking, this coin bank has endured remarkably well. Shown with a carrot in its mouth, the rabbit is shown in a life-like pose. It is interesting to note that Mexican taxidermists in this time period often posed their work with food. Most likely this was part of the inspiration for this pose. Measurements for this piggy bank currently unavailable. These pottery piggy banks were made in Mexico between approximately 1940 to 1951. |
