Hen Piggy Bank #106

  Many of these piggy banks depict common barnyard animals. Hens and Roosters were very popular motifs.

  This particular piggy bank exhibits some wear, as expected of an object of its age. Much of the original paint has endured the years, but aside from flaking, the bank has survived remarkably well.

  The attention to detail and lifelike posturing make this model particularly attractive. The coin banks in this series measure approximately 8" x 10½".

  These pottery piggy banks were manufactured in Mexico between approximately 1940 to 1951.
